Volvo Group Venture Capital makes investments that support collaborations between startups and the Volvo Group, especially in areas such as logistics services, site solutions and electrical infrastructure. The group’s latest investment is Driivz, a software company that calls itself “the operating system for global EV charging.”
The Driivz platform is designed for managing large charging networks from end to end. It’s aimed at operators of charging points and EV fleets. The company recently signed a long-term agreement with EVgo, a major US public charging network. EVgo uses the Driivz platform for charging operations management, retail billing and transaction management. Driivz technology also helps EVgo maintain charger reliability and availability with proactive issue detection and remote resolution.
“There is a significant and growing interest in electric vehicles and machines among Volvo Group customers,” said Erik Johansson, Investment Director, Volvo Group Venture Capital. “The collaboration with Driivz will play an important role in the Volvo Group’s efforts to help customers to electrify their transport solutions.”
Volvo Trucks and Driivz are currently running a joint pilot project aimed at developing new charging services for electric truck customers. “The Volvo Group’s ambition is to offer state-of-the-art truck charging services for a seamless charging experience,” said Marcus Anemo, Senior Innovation Manager at Volvo Group Connected Solutions. “Working with Driivz enables us to begin putting our ambition into effect.”
