PREMO’s new MICU 300A-S/LF inductive couplers for EV sniffing

Spanish manufacturer PREMO has unveiled a new line of inductive couplers: the MICU 300A-S/LF series, designed specifically for electric vehicle sniffing applications.

Sniffing involves the use of inductive couplers to measure current and voltage signals on high-voltage cables, without the need for direct contact. PREMO explains that sniffing applications are essential for a variety of reasons. They enable real-time monitoring of the high-voltage system, providing valuable insights into its performance and safety, and they can help identify potential issues before they become serious problems, allowing for timely maintenance and repair. They can also be used to gather data for R&D purposes.

PREMO’s MICU 300A-S/LF series provides a non-intrusive sniffing solution for EVs. The MICU series offers an extended frequency range and minimal insertion loss, providing combined narrow-band (30-600 kHz) and broadband (2 MHz-40 MHz). The couplers are designed to be easy to install and use, with no need for calibration or setup. They feature a compact design, and are suitable for use in rugged environments. SW equipment can be connected through different connectors (BNC standard, others on demand).

“We are thrilled to launch our innovative line of inductive couplers for electric vehicle sniffing applications,” said Jordi Mestre, CTO of PREMO. “We are committed to providing high-quality solutions that support the safe and efficient operation of electric vehicles, suitable for different markets: European, American and Asian.”

The MICU 300A-S/LF series is now available from PREMO’s global network of distributors.
