Applied EV and NXP collaborate to commercialize software-defined vehicles

Australian technology company Applied EV has announced its partnership with Dutch vehicle electrical/electronic (E/E) architecture solutions provider NXP Semiconductors to advance safer and more connected autonomous electric mobility.

NXP and Applied EV will collaborate on software-defined vehicles and electrical and electronic architecture (EEA) innovation, share ideas and form strategic and production partnerships. Digital Backbone—Applied EV’s central control unit—uses NXP’s S32G vehicle network processors for simplified domain and zonal vehicle architectures. Applied EV collaborates with automotive OEMs to support the global shift to more software in vehicles.

“Our collaboration and strategic relationship with NXP are to further innovate the field of software-defined vehicles. It is a natural fit towards a future where software features and the electronics to support them will create significant value for automakers,” said Julian Broadbent, CEO of Applied EV.
