Exploring the importance of connectivity in an EV’s battery (Webinar)

EVs have gone mainstream. Automotive industry experts agree that it’s no longer a matter of if we’ll see more EVs on the road than traditional fuel-powered cars, but when, which represents a fundamental change in the way the automotive industry does business. There are clear reasons for the shift to EVs including environmental needs like reducing carbon emissions and financial benefits for the vehicle owner; however, there are still challenges that exist—primarily associated with the battery. For example, the amount of time it takes to replenish the electricity stored in an EV’s battery pack and the capabilities of its inbound and outbound connections are high on the list of challenges that need to be addressed.

Just as the engine was considered the heart of a traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) car, in EVs, the battery is equally as vital. Therefore, the components used in manufacturing the EV battery need to perform at a high level. During this webinar, our TE Connectivity expert will discuss the importance of the battery within an EV and how connector components have the ability to make it safer, more efficient, and long lasting.

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • How battery cell and module interconnections serve as the vital physical-layer responsible for delivering energy to the motor
  • How pressurized and non-pressurized contactors can help protect the battery and other electrical components from damage
  • How compact and flexible low-voltage connectors and sensors improve motor performance and increase energy efficiency

The webinar, hosted by Charged on November 16, 2022, at 1:00 PM EDT, will include a live Q&A session.
